Sorghum Production Through Application of Water Harvesting Techniques

Soudan_Good6Practicise-1FAO and UNIDO led to the formulation of “Integrated Food Security Project-IFSP in Kassala” that targeted the improvement of productivity of farming practices that depends on rain-fed and semi-mechanized methods of farming with improved seeds, modern irrigation technologies and the provision of fertilizers and other farm inputs for both male and female farmers. The good practice is, making agricultural systems more environmentally sustainable by identifying the main drivers of resource degradation to reverse the phenomenon in less favoured areas; improving agricultural water management; promotion of better management of intensive livestock systems; and maintaining payments for environmental services.
